Why being trans aware is vital for your business

Creating a safe and inclusive space for all your clients feels good - and it’s great for business too.

Why should your business invest in being able to properly welcome, accommodate, and uplift your transgender clients, customers and guests? While there are many valid reasons to make this decision for your business, there are two key motivators.

It just feels good.

Perhaps it’s an obvious point, but it’s well worth mentioning. By empowering yourself and your team with the right knowledge, tools, and practices, you ensure that your trans and non-binary customers are happy, safe and satisfied.

It’s good for your business.

As a business providing a quality service, you understand the importance of exceptional customer experience.

Be the first to become trans aware - not the last.

By equipping yourself and your team with the right tools, knowledge and best practices, you can ensure your business is more accessible and benefits from an improved quality customer experience.

  • Attract, welcome and retain a growing number of trans and non-binary clients.

  • Continue to build an incredible reputation and become the premier choice for other people in the LGBTQIA+ community.

  • Equip staff with valuable knowledge and offer more opportunity for professional development.

How ‘Be Trans Aware’ training helps your customers

All of our trans awareness courses are designed to help you create a welcoming, inclusive and validating experience for your transgender and non-binary clients.

While it makes obvious business sense, these small but powerful shifts in approach can make all the difference for trans and non-binary people. These measures could include:

  • Being addressed appropriately by staff (for example, a staff member welcomes a group using gender-neutral language like “Welcome, everyone” instead of “Welcome, ladies” to avoid assuming anyone’s gender identity).

  • Having access to the correct facilities, such as a trans man being directed to the men’s toilets.

  • In a spa or therapeutic setting, having non-surgical enhancements, such as a binder, accommodated with adapted practices.

  • Having their gender respected and accepted without additional explanation, effort or stress.
