What People Have Said…

“Every hair and beauty brand, business owner and practitioner should complete the Trans Awareness training and ensure they are educated to represent, respect and welcome everyone that they serve, not only their customers, but also their colleagues and peers in an inclusive way.”

— Helena Grzesk MBE, COO at the British Beauty Council

“Inclusivity, diversity and understanding. We work in a service industry dealing with people of all ages, sizes, races and genders and those 3 words should be a given. Sadly they are often not but maybe just a little understanding is all that is needed.

Sam has created an environment where we, as professionals, can gain that understanding in a comfortable and non-confrontational way. Todays world of ‘gender identification’ can be a bit of a mystery to many but those working in the beauty sector need to park their personal opinions at the door. The program they have developed is a wonderful way to gain an understanding so we can be caring, empathetic and non-offensive (even if it may be accidental).

I can wholeheartedly recommend Sam's course and applaud her for addressing a potentially tricky subject. Never mind what the law makers say; WE need to embrace all people for who they are.”

— Marian Newman OBE

“Sam is the ultimate professional, both in the hair and beauty industries and in her trans awareness training.

She is kind, patient, understanding and supportive, and it's clear to see when she begins the training how important this subject is to her. No question is too much, and she frequently checks in with the group to ask whether there are any questions and that we understand what's been said.

You will learn SO much, you will take away lots of invaluable information, and you will meet a passionate and dedicated expert, as well as a group of wonderful people.”

— Emma Hobday, News and Features Writer at Scratch Magazine, the world’s leading nail magazine

“The Introduction to Trans Awareness for the Hair and Beauty and Nail Industry webinar provides a highly engaging, interactive , educational resource.  Content provides a clear steer and understanding on how a business can take forward their commitment to diversity and inclusion, promoting and embedding a culture of inclusivity.

An important aspect of this learning resource is that it is written for and targets the hair and beauty industry workplace and identifies succinctly, how to remove unnecessary barriers which impede inclusivity and diversity from a perspective of an employer, employee, trainee or client..”

— Lorraine, Nordmann, Habia Consultant Endorsement Assessor

“Just completed the Trans awareness training with Sam Marshall and my mind is blown!

I implore everyone, beauty, nail, hair professional as well as those who aren’t in the industries I’ve mentioned, do this course!

The world is evolving, our minds need to too.”

— Danni Simmons, Nail & Beauty Network

“I knew I wanted to understand more about how I could personally become more trans aware and what else we can do as an industry, but I genuinely had no idea where to start or what questions to ask.

So when I found Sam, it was a real find. She is clearly so passionate about this topic, really makes it accessible and never makes you afraid to ask the questions you are afraid to ask. I’m now super passionate about this topic as well!

— Adam Chatterley, Chair of the UK Spa Association

I have known Sam for some time now, having worked together many years ago in Harvey Nichols. Sam & I randomly bumped into each other in a local shop, and got reacquainted (thankfully). Sam had asked me, if I had considered doing any Trans awareness training. As it happened, I was in the process of looking into this exact same subject, as I had a number of colleagues throughout my hotels, who had come to me in confidence to share their own journeys with me. The timing was perfect.

Sam was able to accommodate mine and my companies needs impeccably, with an online version of the training delivered to our senior HR team within the UK. The delivery was spot on, with guest speakers from the Trans community who joined us and allowed us to ask anything! The content was pitched just right, giving us as a team a better understanding of the community, and how we needed to engage further.

The training was such a success, that we then arranged for our leadership teams within our estate to be trained, some virtually, some in person. It was working, the conversation was gathering momentum from Edinburgh all the way down to London, and everywhere in between. Decisions were now being made based on knowledge which we were given by Sam during these sessions, how we could make this a more inclusive work place, a more inclusive company more importantly a safer environment for all.

We then moved to our European HR team, a further session was held in person, again hitting all the right notes, opening up even more conversation about what we do now, how we move forward, how do we continue our journey of true inclusivity. For us, this is just the start, there is still some way to go. But Sam’s training is absolutely spot on, thought provoking, factual, real! Sam is a perfect educator, and I am so so happy we were able to reacquaint, and partner together on this journey! Thanks Sam 😊 x.”
